About
Emma O'Regan
I am an advocate for positive mental health and a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. I hold pre-accredited membership with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). My therapeutic qualifications include a BA (Hons) Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Counselling Studies.
I have gained valuable experience working with clients presenting a broad range of clinical issues during my time at SOSAD in Drogheda.
Person Centred Approach
My person-centred, humanistic approach to counselling provides a calm and supportive environment where individuals can engage in open and honest conversation, with a sense of being heard, respected and valued. I specialise in working with people who have experienced trauma and are working through their history and want support with this. I understand the complex nature of human suffering and belief that under the right conditions and with the right support, people can move from a place of pain and discontent to a more pleasant place of peace and hope.
I will work side by side with you on your journey to guide you through your difficulties with the utmost care, compassion and empathy. Whether it is trauma, relationships, addiction, anxiety, depression or whatever difficulty you are currently experiencing, it is possible to work through, overcome and move forward.
Safe, Supportive Space
Have you ever wondered what it might be like to feel less anxious and begin to gain control of your life? What if you could treat yourself with compassion and kindness? You may be feeling overwhelmed by stress, coping with depression, or trying to manage the pain of grief after a loss. Perhaps you are experiencing loneliness or trying to understand why relationships are not working out for you. Life brings challenges for all of us at times. Counselling offers a safe, supportive space where you can explore these difficulties, develop healthier coping skills and learn to manage your thoughts and feelings in a way that will better support you to enjoying your life.
Choosing a counsellor can feel overwhelming. My aim is to offer a warm, compassionate, nonjudgmental and trusting space where you can safely explore difficult feelings. I offer support in developing practical skills to manage anxiety and other challenging feelings. Together, we can work on the changes you may want to make in yourself, your life, or your relationships.
I provide both in-person and online therapy sessions to suit your needs. A free 15-minute phone consultation is available to give you an opportunity to see if us working together feels like the right fit for you. Feel free to get in touch by text or email to arrange your consultation and discuss how I may be able to support and help you.
Clients are believed to have the expertise within themselves and resources to reach their full potential and development. Research indicates that the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist has a positive impact for a client’s self-healing. This means clients can expect empathy, authenticity, and non-judgment from this therapeutic relationship. Call me today, you deserve to be happy.
